Describe daily habits using the present tense (المضارع).

أستيقظ (astayqiz) — I wake up
أتناول الفطور (atanawal al-futur) — I have breakfast
أذهب إلى العمل (adhhab ila al-amal) — I go to work
أنام (anam) — I sleep

Present tense verbs begin with a prefix (أ for "I").

Grammar tip

Present tense prefixes: أ (I), تـ (you/she), يـ (he), نـ (we). So يكتب = he writes, نكتب = we write.
