| 谢谢 | Xièxie | First syllable 4th tone, second neutral tone. The "x" is a hissing sound |
Tones: Mandarin has 4 tones + a neutral tone. The same syllable with different tones means completely different things! 妈(mā)=mother, 马(mǎ)=horse, 骂(mà)=scold.
