Tell the time and talk about days of the week and months of the year.

Days of the week (les jours de la semaine):

lundi, mardi, mercredi, jeudi, vendredi, samedi, dimanche

Note: Days are NOT capitalized in French!

Months (les mois):

janvier, février, mars, avril, mai, juin, juillet, août, septembre, octobre, novembre, décembre

Telling time:

Quelle heure est-il ? — What time is it?
Il est trois heures. — It is 3 o'clock.
Il est trois heures et demie. — It is 3:30.
Il est midi. — It is noon.
Il est minuit. — It is midnight.
du matin — in the morning (AM)
de l'après-midi — in the afternoon (PM)

Grammar tip

On + day: Use "le" before a day to mean "every [day]": le lundi = every Monday. Without "le", it means a specific day: lundi = this/next Monday.
